Discipleship, its one of those fun church words. We talk about it a lot if you know me at all you know it's what I am passionate about. This past Sunday I started a Sunday School class on it, to that class and all those reading this I want to challenge you with the Words of Christ.
“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matt 4:19 ESV)
The ultimate goal of a person who is a Christian is not to be saved, not just to be a follower of Jesus but to be a disciple of His. The word disciple is similar to our modern day word for student. The purpose to be a student is to become like the teacher. When we discuss the meaning of discipleship we are really talking about the process of becoming like Christ. Too often we assume people who claim Christ are Christians, in reality, those who are Christians seek to become like the teacher.
Below you find links to other blog entries and videos on discipleship, we will look at the teacher, the Lord Jesus the Christ on how He did things and seek to replicate that in our own lives.
